Work on Program E began in November of 2001. Back then Program E was known as PHiliP.

Most of the core of Program E was written while I was living in a hotel room in Dallas, Texas while my wife was working on a Java contracting job.

A lot of Program E was also written while flying between Texas and California on weekends.

The first seven versions of Program E (0.01 to 0.07) were released every few weeks. With the birth of my son in February 2002, the work on Program E slowed considerably.

In August 2002 I renewed my efforts on Program E, created the current website that you are reading now, and released version 0.08.
